Recognizing the importance of these formative years, the MSD of Pike Township has strengthened Middle School academic rigor to continue building the foundation for an educational environment committed to academic excellence. This environment is responsive to the unique needs of adolescent learners and includes: challenging curricula, student engagement, critical thinking for deeper understanding, and opportunities that allow students to reach their full potential.
The class schedule for Guion Creek increases academic rigor through expanded instructional time. Offerings include a full year of foreign language in the eighth grade, High Ability and Honors in the four core subject areas in the sixth grade through eighth grade. In addition, College Prep courses are offered in the core content areas in all grade levels.
Math and Language Arts tutorials are offered to students during the course of the school day. The choices of related arts classes are available which include art, band, choir, orchestra, computer technology, and wellness.
Students performing at advanced levels may also benefit from participation in our High Ability Program and will continue to benefit from the Advanced Placement and IB courses offered at Pike High School.
